Privilege Pay

Privilege Pay is a service that allows us to pay an item presented for payment against your checking account even if it causes the account to become overdrawn. This may include share drafts, ATM withdrawals, Debit and ATM Card Transactions, ACH items and WebPay (online bill paying service).

Privilege Pay may provide members in “good standing” with the ability to overdraw their account up to a maximum of $750 including fees incurred if the eligibility requirements are met. “Good Standing” is defined as: A) Making regular deposits sufficient to cover transactions; B) Bringing the account to a positive balance at least once every 30 days; C) Not having overdrawn balances on other credit union accounts; D) There are no legal orders outstanding on your account; E) You do not have any loans with us that are more than 30 days past due;  F) There is not documented “Kiting” occurring on your account; G) You did not provide false information on your membership application; H) We have not received documentation of an unpaid closure or account abuse at another financial institution and I) You have not caused the credit union a loss.

Eligibility requirements: A) agreement to opt-in to this service for one time Debit Card and ATM items; B) account is not classified as dormant; and C) we have a current mailing address.

  • Qualification for $150 limit: Account must be in "good standing" and meet all eligibliity requirements
  • Qualification for $300 limit: Account must be opened 61 days, be in “good standing” and meet all eligibility requirements.
  • Qualification for $750 limit: Account must be opened 121 days, be in “good standing” and meet all eligibility requirements.

This non-contractual courtesy of paying overdrafts requires opt-in agreement for everyday Debit Card charges and ATM transactions. A confirmation will be provided confirming your choice to opt in. This service is not a loan. No additional agreements need to be signed, and it cost nothing unless the privilege is used. If you maintain the account in good standing and have the need for this “privilege”, we may, at our sole discretion, pay the item(s) up to the authorized limit, and your account will be assessed a fee of $30.00 for each transaction. Transactions may not be processed in the order in which they occurred which could affect the total amount of overdraft fees. The amount of the fees assessed is subtracted from the overdraft protection limit.  We will send you a notice each time an overdraft occurs. Once your account becomes overdrawn, you have 33 days to bring your account back to a positive balance.

Privilege Pay applies after your pre-existing overdraft protection resources such as your line of credit or savings account transfers are exhausted. You may opt-out of this service at the time that you open your account or revoke this service by signing an opt-out notice at any of our branches. Please see a member service representative to inquire about a line of credit as an alternative to privilege pay services.
