Many financial institutions are advertising Free Checking these days. At C-Plant, we have always had Free Checking for our members, and added a little something in it for you.

The Credit Union Difference is that We Pay You for having your checking account at C-Plant. Every checking, or share draft account, receives a quarterly dividend rate of .10%.

C-Plant’s Free Checking account offers members the ability to use our new MasterCard debit card to access their funds in their accounts and make purchases around at most retail outlets. In addition, the Free Checking account can be accessed through C-Plant’s Home banking so you can access statements, transfer funds, or pay bills.

Share Draft

C-Plant Federal Credit Union’s checking account (sometimes called a share draft account) is an account that enables you to earn dividends and conduct your business without the threat of service charges for maintaining a minimum balance, writing over a preset number of checks, etc. There is no minimum balance or service charge except in an overdraft situation. If the member does not have a checking account, there will be a $5.00 service charge when cashing a check when your total balances of your other accounts is under $100.00.

OVERDRAFT SERVICES – The credit union offers the security of withdrawing from your share account for amounts of overdrafts to the extent that funds are available. Federal Regulation D will only allow Six transactions (ie. HB, VR, ACH or Overdraft) per month in $100.00 increments or more to cover overdrafts. After six transactions you will be charged a $30.00 fee and your item will be returned.

As of 10/23/09, we will no longer send out overdraft notice letters to members.  C-Plant offers home banking and voice response to help members obtain their balances 24 hours a day.

PREAUTHORIZED DRAFT – You may have mortgage, insurance, or other payments deducted from your checking account on an automated basis. Check with your mortgage company or insurance company to obtain forms to complete this process.

AUTOMATIC DEPOSIT – You can establish direct deposit of either your net payroll or any specified amount through payroll deduction. Also, any recurring Federal payment such as VA Benefits, Social Security, Military or other Retirement, or Civil Service Annuity may be directly deposited into your account.

What is Regulation CC - Funds Availability Policy?
Our policy is to make funds from your cash, check and electronic direct deposits available to you on the day in which we receive your deposit. In some cases, we will not make all of the funds that you deposit by check available on the same day of your deposit. You will be notified at the time of deposit if your funds will not be available immediately.
